Congratulations to our November Art Docents of the Month!

Thank you to each of our Art Docents for their creative support and enthusiasm in the classroom. The artwork displayed over the past couple months has been spectacular! This month, we are highlighting two docent teams that displayed an inspirational level of team work in and out of the classroom.

Gifts from Gilman Issaquah Food Bank Holiday

Toy and Warm Clothing Drive

Grand Ridge PTSA is partnering with the Issaquah Food bank to support Issaquah families in need.

Each year the Issaquah Food Bank turns Pickering Barn into a giant toy and gift shop and invites families in need to choose gifts for the children. To make this possible, the food bank needs a variety of new and unused toys and warm clothing for children ages 0-18.

Our goal is to have each family donate at least 1 item!  We need your support!

Suggested new and unused items include: Gift cards (increments of $15-$ - Please turn into office), Toys, Puzzles, Books, Blocks, Art/craft supplies, Board games, Video Games, DVDs, CDs, Warm baby clothes, Coats, Gloves, Hats, Socks

Please remember that children of all ages are in need.  We hope to bring in donations for the older children and teenagers as well.

If you would like to donate please send unwrapped items to school with your child or drop them off at the school.  Collection boxes located in front of the office and at the lower rear student entrance.

All unwrapped donations can be dropped off between November 1st and December 2nd.

Thank you for your generosity and for remembering our neighbors in need this holiday seasons!!

We won’t be able to do the Scholastic Fair without our wonderful Volunteers. Sign up soon to help with this wonderful event. Shifts will be December 4-9th, set up, sales, cashier, and clean up.

Remember how fun recess was when you were a kid?

You can make a difference just by playing games & hanging out with students at lunch & recess. Once approved as a volunteer you can sign in at the office, don the Grizzly Guys vest and join in the fun.

The Grizzly guy recess gives Dad or Grandpa a way to volunteer and get involved.  They come to 2nd recess from 1:50- 3:10 and play some pick up football, basketball or whatever game they choose with the kids.

Sign up now!

Other Options for Recess

Get out of the cold and join us at Recess club!!!

Recess club is a place where kids can have fun, learn and explore.  This year the club will do STEAM activities (Science, Technology, Engineer, Art and Math).   It occurs every Thursday during 2nd recess for every grade starting in January and ends in March.  No sign-up is needed, but space is limited.  First come first serve.

Recess STEAM Club

Thu Jan 5, 2017 - Thu Mar 30, 2017

We are looking for volunteers to assist students with STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) activities on Thursdays during 2nd recess. There are four, 20 min. recesses (1:50-3:10pm) - so each Thursday there will be one new activity that you'll be helping with four consecutive times with different grade levels. It would be great if you could show up about 15 minutes early to help set up the activity. We are always looking for new activities, so if you have a STEAM activity you'd like to share with our students please contact the organizer, Anh Leith. Thanks for helping to offer these wonderful enrichment opportunities to our students!

Volunteers ALWAYS Welcome!
