What you need to know about the 2016 Grand Ridge Auction


What is the Grand Ridge Auction?

The Grand Ridge Auction is our school’s Spring fundraiser. The PTSA sponsors this event every two years in order to raise funds to cover the costs of our children’s education which are not covered by the State or District. For example, State and District funds do not cover library books, art, or technology, and do not adequately fund science or music. Money raised at the 2016 Auction is critical to help bridge these funding gaps. Click here to learn more about how previous Auction dollars have been spent to enhance our children’s education.

Our Auction will raise funds for Technology, Enrichment, Arts and Math (the “TEAM” in TEAM Up!), and will benefit all students in the 2016-2018 school years.

Who can attend?

The event is for adults only – Grand Ridge parents, friends, community members and staff are all welcome!

When & where is the auction event?

Friday, March 11, 2016 5:30pm to 10:00pm at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue

What is the schedule for the evening?

5:30 - 7:15pm:              Cocktails, appetizers and silent bidding

7:15 - 10:00pm:            Sit-down dinner, raffle and live auction

8:45pm:                        Dessert Dash

What should I wear?

The Auction will be a fun, festive, but not overly-formal event. You’ll be most comfortable in cocktail or business casual attire.

Where should I park?

Parking is available at the Meydenbauer Center Garage and the cost is included in your ticket price. Parking details and directions can be found on Meydenbauer Center’s website, here. Be sure to allow yourself plenty of time to park, so you will have time socialize and bid, bid, bid!

Will there be a raffle?

All Auction guests will have the opportunity to play our “Heads or Tails” Raffle before dinner. Winner gets a $500 gift card that can be applied towards any Live Auction item!

How it works: This game chooses a winner using a process of elimination based on the flip of a coin. A series of “elimination rounds” ultimately will lead to a single winning player. You pay $25 (using your bid number) to play the game. More details will be explained by our Auctioneer, Fred Granados, the evening of the event.

What about dessert?

We will have a Dessert Dash about midway through the Live portion of the Auction. During this fun event, each table of guests will decide how much they’ll “spend” for their choice of a lovely array of desserts. The table with the highest bid gets first chance at dashing to the dessert table and claiming the dessert of their choice! More details and a dessert menu will be available at the event, but bring your sweet tooth!

Does the school hire staff to run the Auction?

Our Auction is organized and run by Grand Ridge PTSA volunteers, with help from volunteers from the Grand Ridge community and other Issaquah PTSAs.

Where do the auction items come from?

Generous businesses, families, friends, and staff of Grand Ridge Elementary have donated all of the items for the Auction with a little encouragement from our dedicated procurement team.

Will all of the items be expensive?

No, there are items to fit everyone’s budget. Items will reflect our community and its wonderful diversity. The auction has items starting as low as $15 (Silent Auction) up to a few thousand dollars (Live Auction).  Whether you purchase a bottle of wine, a birthday party for your child, or a dream vacation, your donation supports all of our children!

How do I get an Auction catalog?

If you have bought a ticket for the Auction, a printed catalog will be sent home with your oldest student about a week prior to the event. Auction items also may be viewed online here.

If I don’t plan to spend a lot of money, should I still attend?

Absolutely! Everyone in the Grand Ridge community is encouraged to attend. It will be a fun evening with old friends and a great time to make new ones, whether you spend a lot of money or not. This is a perfect opportunity to build our Highlands community and to show support for our school.

I would really like to attend. How do I purchase tickets?

Tickets are $75 each, and include your appetizers, sit-down dinner with wine, and parking. Ticket sales close on February 29, 2016. Please click here to purchase your tickets.

  • All sales are final; there is no return policy. Items sold during any of the auctions come with no warranty, or guarantee, either expressed or implied.
