What is the Grand Ridge Auction?

The Grand Ridge Auction is our school’s Spring fundraiser. The PTSA sponsors this event every two years in order to raise funds to cover the costs of our children’s education which are not covered by the State or District. For example, our art docent program, Cultural Fair, Science Expo, Thursday activities in the portables, iPads in the classroom, field trips, teacher stipends to enhance classroom learning, and so much more!  

Who can attend?

Grand Ridge parents, friends, community members and staff are all welcome! This is an adults-only event.

When & where is the auction event?

Saturday, May 5, 2018 starting at 5:30pm until about 10:00pm at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Bellevue. 

What should I wear?

The Auction will be a fun, festive, but not overly-formal event with a Hollywood movie theme this year. You’ll be most comfortable in cocktail or business casual attire.

What can I expect at the auction? 

The evening starts at 5:30 with all silent auction items open for bidding, passed hors d'oeuvres, and cash bars open. By 7:30 all guests will enjoy dinner with wine and then the live auction will begin. There will be raffles and fun games during the evening as well as dessert and specialty drinks auctioned off as part of the festivities.  

Can I sit with friends?  

Yes! When you purchase your tickets there will be an option to request a friend to sit with. Or you can answer a few quick questions that will help us seat you at a great table. It's a great opportunity to meet others in the neighborhood!  

Where do the auction items come from?

Generous businesses, families, friends, and staff of Grand Ridge Elementary have donated all of the items for the Auction with a little encouragement from our dedicated procurement team.

Will all of the items be expensive?

No, there are items to fit everyone’s budget. Items will reflect our community and its wonderful diversity. The auction has items starting as low as $10 (Silent Auction) up to a few thousand dollars (Live Auction).  Whether you purchase a bottle of wine, a gift card to a local restaurant, a birthday party for your child, or a dream vacation, your donation supports all of our children!

If I don’t plan to spend a lot of money, should I still attend?

Absolutely! Everyone in the Grand Ridge community is encouraged to attend. It will be a fun evening with old friends and a great time to make new ones, whether you spend a lot of money or not. This is a perfect opportunity to build our Issaquah Highlands community and to show support for our school. 

Any fine print? 

Just the usual:

  • All sales are final; there is no return policy. Items sold during any of the auctions come with no warranty, or guarantee, either expressed or implied.
  • Grand Ridge PTSA will not assume any responsibility for any unforeseen damage. 
  • All donations are non-refundable.
  • Please consult your tax advisor regarding the amount of any available charitable deduction.
