We’re looking for ISD grads who are passionate about education for our newly formed
Alumni Committee. Headed by Issaquah High School grad Jay Kipp (2001), our Alumni Committee seeks to create connections between past and current grads, become a resource for Alumni Reunion planners, and investigate how alumni can best support our current students—be it as a mentor, speaker, sage, or ...? Your input will help determine the path
the committee takes. Curious? Contact Jay Kipp, jay@jaykipp.com, for more information.
Issaquah Schools Foundation donors made 2011 a year to celebrate. They helped us surpass the million dollar mark and invest more than ever before in our students and schools. This fall we had the pleasure of seeing the impact of many of these investments. We tagged along on a Financial Literacy Program trip and saw the wonder (and often dismay) on
students’ faces as they learned how quickly money disappears when bills, taxes and family responsibilities enter the picture; ventured into classrooms to see the new Elementary Science Curriculum in action and visited After-School Homework Labs to find staff working with students to better their academic performance and boost their confidence. Each of these program investments elevates and enhances our students’ education. None would be possible without the support of our parent community. Thank you and best wishes for a terrific 2012.
The Issaquah Schools Foundation is pleased to partner with middle and high school PTSAs to present Finding Kind, a documentary created to bring awareness and healing to the effects of meanness within “girl world.” The critically acclaimed, 77 minute film will be shown twice— on January 31 at Skyline High School and February 1 at Issaquah High School. Both screening will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by post-film discussions with filmmakers Lauren Parsekian and Molly Thompson. Finding Kind presentations are FREE and open to the public. Please help spread the word. Learn more about
Finding Kind and the Kind Campaign at http://findingkind.indieflix.com/home/.
If you made a pledge and/or indicated an employer match during the All in for Kids Annual Fund Campaign, please follow through. Respond to your pledge remit letter and fill out any required matching gift forms to ensure every one of the $307,227 anticipated dollars can benefit our students.

This is a friendly reminder that the ISF All in for Kids call nights are this
Wednesday & Thursday, and again Saturday morning. Calls will be coming from the District office and cell phones with various numbers, so ignore caller ID and ANSWER THE CALL! Make a nervous high-school student’s day and say YES when they ask for a donation to Issaquah Schools Foundation! With today’s tough budget
crisis, your contribution is more important than ever! But if you'd like to donate now, please visit: www.isfdn.org. Thanks so much for your support!
If a stop on Amazon.com is on your holiday shopping list, please use the ISF site to take you there. Visit isfdn.com and click on the Amazon logo in the top left corner. You’ll be taken to the Amazon site. Once there, add the link to your bookmarks. Then shop as usual and with no further effort on your part, up to 8% of your total purchase will be
donated to the Foundation. Happy shopping!
Teams from across the District ran and walked in the October 2 Issaquah Rotary Run and pushed participation to 2,560—the highest ever. Congrats to Pacific Cascade Middle School for fielding the largest ISD team (51) and to Issaquah High
School for raising $375 over and above race fees. We couldn’t be prouder of our Issaquah School District community. Look for information on the amount runners helped raise for ISF in future editions.
Calling nights (& a morning) for the All in for Kids Campaign Annual Fund Campaign are drawing near. More than 300 high school students will take to the phones on November 16, 17 & 19 to seek donations from District families. You can help lighten their load by visiting www.isfdn.org to make your donation by Friday, November 4. Your name will be removed the calling list and added to the All in for Kids Thank You ad in the Issaquah Press.
To those who have already given—Thank You!
If you haven’t made your donation yet, now is the time. Give what you can with the knowledge that your gift will make a difference to every student in every classroom, every school.
You’ve probably heard that the Calling for Kids Campaign is now the All in for Kids Annual Fund Campaign.
Why the name change? To emphasize the need for everyone—parents, grandparents, friends, community and business members—to get involved and to encourage families to donate prior to our calling nights (November 16, 17 & 19). All in for Kids campaign flyers are available in your school office and online at www.isfdn.org. Please give what you can—$5 a month or $500 a year. Your donation will make a difference to students in every school, every classroom, every day. Thank you.
Save those high school kids from having to call you – donate today!
